Fire Risk Assessments
RedSpark can carry out a Fire Risk Assessment of your premises, as to comply with the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
A fire risk assessment involves a detailed and comprehensive study of the premises and life safety systems to provide an evaluation of the risk to life from fire. We will, where appropriate, make recommendations to ensure compliance with relevant fire safety legislation.
The report ranges from the identification of hazards and dangerous substances, identifying persons especially at risk that may require a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP), assessing effectiveness of current fire safety arrangements, staff capabilities and training requirements. Finally the report will recommend amendments and/or additions to fire safety arrangements as appropriate.
Following the preparation and presentation of the full fire risk assessment report, our experienced and qualified Newport based team can advise as to any remedial action that may be required.
Fire Warden Training
Our Fire warden training covers a number of areas, including managing people in stressful situations, causes of fire, legislation, fire evacuations and prevention, use of different types of extinguisher, emergency procedures, role and responsibilities and fire assembly; as stated by The Fire Protection Association, 77% of businesses that experience a major fire never fully recover – this could be your opportunity to ensure this doesn’t happen to your business.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires employers to have a strategy to evacuate all building occupants. The order implements a risk-based approach to fire safety in community, industrial and business premises and requires the responsible person (usually the employer, owner or occupier) to ensure a fire safety risk assessment is carried out. This must then be used to implement appropriate fire precautionary and protection measures, and to maintain a fire management plan.

Fire Door Inspections
A fire door is considered by many to be the first line of defence between a fire and a person.
This makes a fire door an essential safety device that will help prevent the spread of smoke and fire to other parts of a building. As a result, it saves lives and property.
As professional fire door inspectors RedSpark FSE can inspect each individual fire door and frame to ensure they are to the right specification and that they are correctly maintained. Our inspection will include the checking of each fire door’s condition, as well as the components of the door.
Fire Alarm Design
RedSpark FSE are able to design the full range of fire safety systems to relevant British Standards, and provide Fire Alarm designs to BS5839.
We also provide consultancy services to specifiers and end users along with designing all our own systems.
We have designers who are trained by the Fire Protection Association that will design fire detection and fire alarm systems to BS5839 parts 1 and 6. We have access to a full CAD suite to enable us to produce fire alarm design drawings for installation by another contractor, or design for our own installations.
Fire Alarm Maintenance
Regular servicing and maintenance of your fire alarm system is an important part of limiting the false alarms that may occur. BS 5839-1 gives recommendations for periodic inspection and test of the system in Section 6.
RedSpark FSE can offer maintenance packages for your fire alarm system that will ensure compliance with the relevant standards but equally as important fit in with your business. This may involve checks out of hours or on weekends to avoid customer or staff disruption. Call us to discuss in detail how we can meet your business needs.
